The SandboxAQ Residency Program empowers early-career scientists, engineers, and innovators to work on transformative projects driven by Large Quantitative Models (LQMs)—advanced AI systems designed to solve high-impact, real-world problems.
Open to medical students, MBA candidates, and STEM undergraduates, graduates, and postdocs, the program brings together a global network of emerging talent and seasoned experts. Residents contribute to projects at the forefront of AI research and development, with direct relevance to society, industry, and science.
Participants receive deep technical mentorship, access to state-of-the-art computing resources, and a platform to share their work with the broader community—all while remaining embedded in their academic or professional environments.
Beyond a residency, this is space for ambitious ideas in AI to take shape!
Our Residency Program welcomes top candidates from diverse fields, including:
AI · PHYSICS · CHEMISTRY · BIOLOGY · NEUROSCIENCE · COMPUTER SCIENCE · CYBERSECURITY · MATHEMATICS · ENGINEERING · DRUG DESIGN · FINANCIAL ENGINEERING
SandboxAQ has hosted residents from more than 15 countries, and we're continuing to grow our global reach.
AQtive Guard is a first-of-its-kind platform that uses Large Quantitative Models to transform cryptography and identity management. Gain real time visibility and control over where cryptography is used, where it is vulnerable, and how to fix it fast.
Build and scale the next generation of quantum sensors to better understand the world around us. Combine AI tools with data from new quantum sensing devices to impact sectors such as the life sciences, navigation, and geophysics.
AQChemSim and AQBioSim accelerate R&D for drug and materials discovery with Large Quantitative Models. Using quantitative AI, we’re transforming how drugs, chemicals, and materials are designed and optimized, cutting time, cost, and risk.
Grounded in physics, chemistry, biology, and math, LQMs simulate real-world systems. They bring the accuracy and scale needed to solve complex global challenges across biopharma, chemicals, materials, cybersecurity, healthcare, navigation, and more.
Support our network of educators to create content on quantum mechanics, linear algebra, cryptography, machine learning and other disciplines.
Residents and their SandboxAQ team can mutually arrange for either remote or on-site residencies at several locations globally. Residents focused on photonics hardware may be based at our lab near Stanford University in the Bay Area.
This role may be fulfilled full time, part time, or a combination depending on the needs of the resident and the team.
